SubmitEaze Version 8 Launches

When it comes to directory submission I usually don’t do it by the masses, but when I need to I can always rely on SubmitEaze. Version 8 has just been launched and there is no secret about this program, it just works like it should and can get very profitable if used properly. I think we can all agree how much submitting to directories sucks the big one, so any sort of automation is good in my books.

So what’s new with version 8? The one major feature that I should get out there first is its new “Turbo Submitting” feature which employs a browser-less interface, and instead displays the submission form as part of the graphical user interface. SubmitEaze can now submit to directories faster than before, but keep in mind that too many links too quickly will get you penalized in Google….so be a smart submitter. Here’s a look at the graphical interface;

SubmitEaze also now submits to over 4000 free directories, so remember to stick to ones within your niche because quality links is what counts. Version 8 also submits to article directories which helps kill two birds with one stone. Also on that note you can randomize titles and descriptions and anchor text which should all help make sure you have profitable SERP results by doing it the right way.

It’s Going To Be A Slow Few Days

August 27  |  News  |   Ryan Clark

Coming up I’m preparing to move deeper downtown Vancouver where I’m currently in an apartment on the beach. I’ve got to move in January and my good friend asked me to look after his cat and apartment for free until then, so I said what the hell. So the next few days are going to be slow on the link building news front because I have to finish a few things up for a client. So on that note if anyone needs some consulting work to formulate a link building strategy that’s 100% custom to your businesses niche, give me a shout.

I’m also still wanting to draw you guys into the Link Building Forums so we can get that going, but I’m aware it’s going to be another 6 months before that place is all hustle and bustle. I’m in talks now with a new moderator who can bring a lot to the forum due to his career in the SEO game, so more on that soon. I’ve managed to get within the top 10 on the first couple of days for the forum which should help a little bit but as I’ve stated before, I really think the link building niche is yet to take off as much as it will.

Link Building & RSS Promotion With Aide RSS

August 26  |  Link Building  |   Ryan Clark

AideRSS is a really slick interface that parses your favorite feeds by its own rating system called the PostRank. This system takes in many variables of the blog post such as amount of comments, rating and inbound links to the post to determine which ones you should most likely be reading. I’ve been using the software for a while now out of pure personal enjoyment, so take your time and check the site out. This site is put together by a cool group of people that really take an interest in the site so please don’t abuse the services they provide.

You can watch a screencast which shows you the basics of AideRSS and what it is for, and how to use it. They introduce the concept of PostRank, the core technology behind AideRSS, and how it can help you find and read what matters. Within the system you can enter your blog(s) and as you’ll see upon viewing my AideRSS page how your backlinks are produced. They also take in effect your posts “rippel effect” in the social media world such as Digg, Delicious and others. They have managed to hold a Goolge page rank 7, so that means they’re doing something right in the 2.0 world. The more feeds you pump into their system the better AideRSS gets.

Our company

Based in Waterloo, Canada, AideRSS Inc. is a privately held company created to help deal with daily information overload, and our overwhelmed feed readers. Utilizing the latest cloud computing technologies, and distributed algorithms we created the PostRank™ filtering process. With a great mix of strong technical and creative talents, our team continues to innovate on finding new information management solutions.

The folks at AideRSS have been featured on Leo Laporte’s TWiT and all the major blogs such as Mashable and Life Hacker. The entire team’s bio is online as well a look into their office life on Flickr. They also happen to be hiring, so if anyone has some programming skills give them a shout.

Link Building With Scuttle & ScuttlePlus

August 26  |  Link Building  |   Ryan Clark

As you all I’m sure are aware of of the open source social bookmarking CMS called Scuttle. Well it isn’t anything too special except for the fact it happens to be one of the most popular scripts chosen on many many many niche based social bookmarking clones. Within the past year there also has been a launch of ScuttlePlus which is an improved version of Scuttle with a few more features such as do follow, administrator panel and advertising control. Now keep in mind 90% of the sites based on Scuttle are not even worth the time it takes to put a link in mainly because the websites are useless. There is no real substance to these sites making them weak places for a backlink, so use at your own risk. I’ve included a list of Scuttle based sites that are do follow and have *some* authority at the end of the post.

Find Scuttle based websites is a breeze but keep in mind most of them are no follow, so the only real point would be to find a few that actually have traffic based around your niche. I can’t promise you’ll find a site related to your niche so hopefully you have some luck on your side. I took sometime to find out the best way to mass identify Scuttle sites and you can easily do it with this Google search query inurl:?sort=url_asc which brings up a huge list of potential sites.

ScuttlePlus sites are just as easy to find and a lot more of them are do follow, and I must also mention seem to have more of a structured system going on. I’d expect links from ScuttlePlus to be considered a little less spammy, so becareful when using Scuttle for links. To find websites running ScuttlePlus another Google query will do the trick inurl:populartags.php/

I’m also aware that blackhats will and have been using automated tools to spam the bloody hell out of these social bookmarking sites, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a slap from the G in the future on spammy Scuttle sites. Regarldess of the black/whitehat implications of use, remember to keep an eye out for similiar software that might becoming more popular to use for your link building benefit.

Here’s a list of a few Scuttle sites that all look the same and provide no real help to your link building efforts. Seeing these sites kind of seals the nail in the coffin for the future of social bookmarking links being a good source of link weight….

Link Building With Mugshot.com

August 26  |  Link Building  |   Ryan Clark

Mugshot is an open source social platform sponsored by Red Hat which allows users to compile an online portfolio of themselves from their online social media sites. So basically it lets you build a page filled with content streamed in from your Youtube acount, Flickr account, Delicious bookmarks, blogs and so much more. You can get do follow links from your profile page and join/create groups to promote whatever you like. If you get a popular group going users can socially browse links and chat about the topic with other people in the group. I really like the site idea, and I’ve had a very similiar idea in mind for a while but there’s something with the layout and design of this site that makes it hard on the eyes. I feel kind of confused sometimes while browsing the site which might explain why it hasn’t grow much at all in a year traffic wise.

One Way Link Building Strategies

August 26  |  Link Building Tools  |   Ryan Clark

I was scouring Youtube for link building videos, and while having a good chuckle at some, there was a pretty good video series from the folks at Themematic. A lot of people have blogged and discussed methods of using social media websites such as Squidoo, Hubpages(etc etc etc) for the purpose of providing quality one-way links to your main websites. There’s almost no need to exchange links anymore with websites because there are so many one-way link building options out there, why bother?

So the folks at Themematic have put together a formula as well as a product to teach people how they go about constructing this network to gain top ranks. I thought the video was well put together and it is worth the watch if you’re currently not doing something like this.

About ThemeMatic Software

ThemeMatic Software was designed specifically to take advantage of the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques taught by Charles Heflin’s ‘The Master Plan’ and in conjuction with the team at Theme Zoom. After modifying an existing e-commerce site and creating another content site from scratch in accordance with ‘The Master Plan’, top ranking in Google was achieved very quickly. The need for a tool like ThemeMatic became blindingly obvious to us when top site rankings in highly-competitive markets became possible given the correct ‘Theme Density’, ‘Silo Site Structure’, ‘Internal Linking’, and removal of elements that cause ‘Theme Bleeding’. At the time that the ThemeMatic Software was being developed, there did not exist a single tool on the market that could achieve the above without massive manual effort on every page of one’s site (believe us, we tried it!)

Link Building With Your Resume

August 26  |  News  |   Ryan Clark

I’ve been trying to find another way to build links that will come off as reputable links and it led me to resume websites. There have been quite a few web 2.0 resume creating/posting sites coming out as well, if you dig deep, there are a ton of old and authoritative resume sites. The beauty about link building this way is that you can also sharpen your resume writing skills, and even perhaps snag a few jobs within your industry. Some of the web 2.0 based resume sites have built in wizards to create your online wizard in a snap, which usually includes a place for a backlink.

I won’t name too many sites and leave the resume site snooping up to you guys, but we’ll take a look at one site which makes a perfect example. Emurse is an online resume site that does everything from create and store your professional resume online with all the print options so employers can get your resume easily. They also keeps track of your past and present colleagues using the Emurse contact manager. Invite your contacts to Emurse and always have access to their latest contact information and resume.

In this day and age of technology, blogs, podcasts and social networking employers want to see your online portfolio, so what a better way to drop some links. You can start by creating an account and get to creating your resume. You can see for yourself that you can get do follow backlinks within your resume by checking out the latest resumes. One of the new ones listed was Jason Yandell’s resume which you can see his links in action within his resume.

I hope this gives you guys the inspiration to go and find out other resume sites that are great for link building, and if you do come on over to the link building forums and make a post! I’m going to be doing some link building with my resume this week in order to gain some more authoraty for this site. It’s still so new and I could use all the help I can get.

I’ve been having a good productive day so far and the night is continueing on. I’ve been snooping around for a new place to build some links and low and behold here came Bemba, the social sharing network. Bemba is a pr4 do follow social media site that covers the basics such as videos, pictures and blogs. Another pretty cool feature of the site is its statistics which gives you direct and continuous feedback on your bookmarks. While Bemba has yet to reach millions of viewers, its user base has been steadily growing along with the traffic. If you want to go share your content with its users and make some new “friends”(lolz), head on over to Bemba and sign up.
