Link buying has been penalized by Google. But then sites text-linkads . com which are in the forefront of offering these service have a good and healthy PR of 5. Wonder why

Interesting discussion. Linkbaiting doesnt sound like something an algorithm would easily determine, whereas all the others could be…and perhaps should be? It would level the business market of SEO a lot.

I am not so sure about the forms of link building being "penalized," but I can see the links being "discredited" for SEO benefits. The PAD software links are obviously just to get authority links in a grey/blackhat matter as most sites don't even have software to give away, so I assume those links will be discredited for PR benefit soon. Until then however, they are easy links. :-)
