We Build Brands (Not Just Links)

July 14  |  Brand Building  |   Ryan Clark

So our own branding slogan is as the new banner says. While it sounds cool (right folks?), what does it mean really and how does it make us differ from most of the other companies out there? I thought I’d explain it in a little more detail, and hopefully show everyone what we’re about. There are a million in one ways to market your business online, just not all of them are perhaps the most suitable route. We do our best to send companies in the right direction, and this of course requires more than just a handful of good links.

While there are thousands of SEO consultants, companies and guru’s out there, we aim to always offer something unique to the client. The marketing game is always changing, and a company that forecasts, plans and adapts to those changes will never have to worry about a “dreaded” Google algorithm update. With that being said, our company makes sure every client is dead aware of not focusing on free Google traffic as their sole source of business. If you’re in this boat now, and you’re still sleeping sound at night, then I’m here to shake off that thought process.

Our companies process for each client is highly customised and fine tuned for your market in depth. Our team is here to help build amazing content, sniff out those diamond in the rough links and help you conduct social media like a BOSS. We’re a boutique marketing firm that aims to been felt as an extension of your brand! This philosophy has kept the majority of our client base with us for years, and not just a pump and dump process you’ll get with a lot of other agencies.

Our firm is also aimed for the brands that are in a competitive landscape. We prefer to work with clients that need more than just one month of consulting because there’s no miracle cure for bad rankings. So if you’re looking for a team that can do it all, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We provide extremely in depth proposals at no charge. All our clients, regardless of budget also get 24/7/365 direct contact support from our team, and we’ll never charge for that.

Dos Equis Man Meme

July 1  |  Brand Building  |   Ryan Clark

Who isn’t a fan of the Dos Equis Man? The beer brand has done an excellent job with their marketing and branding, and to be considered a meme just solidifies your efforts. I’ll get a Dos Equis whenever I’m at a restaurant, and hey, it even isn’t that good of a beer. I always get a kick out of the meme’s created, so I thought we might as well make our own for the sake of a lazy Canada Day. I’m the only one in office today so I feel the need to start slacking as it’s 3 PM.

Pubcon in Austin 2011: Who’s Coming?

January 28  |  News  |   Ryan Clark

I just wanted to get the word out we’re sending Ryan from our team to go soak in the experience at one of the top search and social conferences currently running. He was quite pleased to hear that this one was in Austin TX, and won’t be in Vegas where he was last…apparently he had a hard time focusing there! The Austin Pubcon looks to be an amazing time with a huge line up of amazing speakers. He’ll be there to network and share expertise, for free, so make sure to look out for the goofy Canadian amongst the crowd.

We’ll make sure to keep you updated of his where abouts through Twitter, Youtube and Foursquare where he’ll be checking in constantly like he always does. Follow us on Foursquare to keep tabs, or just to see how much he eats out. You’d be surprised how often that guy can manage to not cook a meal. But besides Ryan being there, the list of speakers is stellar and here’s just a taste of the talent at the Austin event:

- Arnie Kuenn from Vertical Measures – view bio
- Aaron Shear from Shopping.com – view bio
- Andy Beal from Trackur.com – view bio
- Chris Tolles from Topix – view bio
- David Wallace from Search Rank – view bio
- Gillian Muessig from SEOmoz – view bio

We’re Launching an SEO Affiliate Program

January 16  |  News  |   Ryan Clark

We’ve been working with a few related businesses who are sending us leads, and lately it has been working out great for both parties. We currently offer 10% commission for the first $10,000 of business, and then bump it up to 12% after that. We’re going to be screening our applicants quite thoroughly, as well we won’t be allowing a lot of people to join on. We don’t want to dilute the process, as well we only take on a certain amount of clients per month.

Far far, there are a couple web design firms who obviously have the need to push SEO, so that situation works out great. We also have a couple SEO bloggers starting to convert the program at a worthy rate. These types of companies are what we’re looking for, and if you think you have what it takes then get in touch with us today!

Linkbuildr Office Peek

February 3  |  News  |   Ryan Clark

I thought I’d start having more fun and post some stuff from our office from time to time. Most of you only hear me ranting on the blog but everyone else here keeps pretty busy and behind the scenes. We’re working on a few podcast episodes at the moment which will introduce everyone else. There are only four of us here and our office looks pretty bare for how long we’ve been here. I couldn’t get the work done without everyone here so enjoy some of the pictures even though they’re pretty boring.

Kevin is on the left and he’s our programmer who just happens to be good at accounting a well…We all suspect he’ll eventually commit suicide from all the math, statistics and frustration. If you’d like to have a widget coded up and make Kevin’s life even more busy then get in touch. The other Ryan on the right is manager of the linkbait and social media marketing end of things and he’s the guy getting your content viral on all the social news sites.

I think the magical number of whiteboards is 3 and we enjoy staring at them despite how much more efficient my iPhone and netbook are. You’d normally see Geoff  in this picture if he didn’t decide to sleep in and work from home today…I figure I can tease him about it a little even though he’s got more work done than I today.

This is my desk at the moment which looks kind of bare on one end and messy as hell on the other. All I really need is my netbook and Starbucks so I keep a pretty clean desk. My home office looks a lot more professional, and by professional I mean dual LCD screens and really big speakers.

Connect With Me Socially

August 25  |  News  |   Ryan Clark

I’ve been so bogged down with client work and my own Ecommerce project I’ve had little time to write a good post. I have a few in the works that are going to help a lot of you out there, and I still have an Ecommerce SEO/Link Building guide in the works. I’ve had to cut down on the resources in that article or I think I’d have to charge for the information :)

We setup an Ecommerce shop a little under a year ago and have come a long way in regards to the marketing aspects, so I hope to bring a lot to the table with my guide. Building links naturally for an online shop is a little bit tougher, and if you don’t have money to put into it, I wouldn’t bother trying to compete.

I wanted to take the time here to connect with you folks socially and become friends on the various social networks. If you have an account on any of the following feel free to add me as a friend, and if you like, send over some content you think I’d like to see.

What’s New On Linkbuildr

November 19  |  News  |   Ryan Clark

Well it has been a slow couple days for great posts, but I’ve managed to create over 17 drafts of new posts that will be coming out over the next week or two…and they’re gunna be great. I’m hoping to get some good discussions out with some of the articles as well set apart this blog from the others within the link building community.I’d like to thank every one for the kind comments and support I’ve gotten from readers and companies within the link building community…it keeps me going!

First up I have started mapping out my link building services which I’m now offering more to the general public. I generally work with only a few clients every couple of months because I’m mainly working on my own projects which I can rely on for income. But lately I’ve been wanting to sink my teeth into other new projects and let me stuff sit on autopilot. So take a look at the page which is linked at the top of the page and let me know what you think about my prices, grammar mistakes or whatever else!

I’ve been working solely on Ubuntu which is all fine and dandy because I’ve been using Linux since I was 13, its just that I’m used to doing my video editing magic with Sony Vegas but instead I’ve been learning Cinelerra. It’s an open source video editing suite that is about the best and only choice I have with Linux, so it’s taking me a little more time to get the podcast in order. To top that all off Linux has one of the worst track records for MIC input and sound recording so naturally I’m having trouble recording the audi for the screencast portions of the podcast. I’ve been reviewing the Raven SEO Tools for the first episode and I need to get my ass in gear to get it all together.

Tomorrow I get to visit the office that houses the Infobarrel crew and I’ll be recording more podcast stuff with them on site. They live about an hour from me so I’ll be loading up my iPod and heading out the door first thing in the moring, hopefully in time to make sure they get no work done for the day! If anyone missed my post on the site I suggest you check it out because this site is moving!

I cleaned up the ad block on the right as you may have noticed, and took out all the advertising from companies I don’t use, or would ever recommend to a client. This should provided a smoother reading experience and if you see advertising on here now, it’s stuff I’m using and very proud to be using. I’m going to be opening up an actual job board on here in hopes of adding more quality link building resources for the community.

The Link Building Forums are slowly kicking with a couple of members every few days, but I need more people to join up and help start the community. I want to make this a place of total link building orgasmic reading and conversing. A lot of the forums these days are filled with repeat questions(cough DPF cough) and information which is starting to drive me nuts. If I see a post titled “how do I build links with blogs” etc you know I’ll be bringing down the ban hammer! I’ve created many different sections which should help bring out unique discussions and tactics to your everyday link building routine.
