The time has come for another Linklove conference here in 2012 and it looks like the lineup of speakers is nothing short of the best ever. The conference was today and I wish I could have attended but I cannot be everyone at once so I hope it was a blast! The folks at Koozai(who you should go follow all over the social world) were kind enough to put up this video to let us know who’s talking about what this year. I will without a doubt be making my way over for the next event so hopefully I’ll see you there.
Here’s another presentation by those Australian boys over @DejanSEO, this time at the Pesa Internet Conference. Luckily for me, I didn’t have much time to write today and they just uploaded this making my life a little easier today. The video starts off with some basics of SEO then gets into some link building talk and other metrics. These guys always put on a good speech so if you have an extra 30 minutes on your lunch break today, give this a watch while you nom away on your food.
I just caught this hour long webinar from the fine folks at Affiliate Summit, but the talk comes from inbound marketing strategist Chad H. Pollitt from Kuno Creative. While it’s entitled “Link Building Secrets“, there is hardly anything secret or new to the folks reading the blog here. What I loved is how he laid it all out visually and spoke greatly about diversifying your linking efforts. Chad also covers some really solid social media marketing strategies that everyone needs to hear!
Matt answers an interesting question from a webmaster in Thailand about only using nofollow links throughout his website. I can imagine how confusing this can get for some new webmaster’s out there. What should I append nofollow too, how should I build my internal linking structure and is that going to be seen as a PageRank passing link? Hopefully some of you find this post informative and give new webmasters an idea of how to go about linking without fear of screwing something up.
Google and Ecommerce have been doing a lot of fighting lately, and if you own an Ecommerce shop you know what I’m talking about. The single most problematic issue with an online shop is of course making your content pages unique. With the recent Mayday update affecting Ecommerce sites quite a bit, you now more than ever have to stick out from the pack. Rand from SEOMoz gets all the credit for this video in which he describes so many cool ways to spruce of those product pages. If you’re dreading doing this, just thing about the long term and how it isn’t going to get any easier.
Video is a standard feature now more than ever and the press release sites are finally catching on. I wanted to round up a few usable resources for everyone to utilize in their next release. I have yet to test the results out myself, but I’ve been helping clients get out video releases more than usual lately. The more your prospective clients or future business partners can see a real person interacting with its audience, the more you will stand out in your industry. I only had a limited amount of time to write today so feel free to add sites in the comments, and read this interview with Greg Jarboe from the video marketing Pros at ReelSEO.
I really enjoyed Rand’s talk for this episode of Whiteboard Friday which goes into detail into something called nudges. Most of you by now are asking yourself, “what the heck are nudges?”. While I won’t go into much detail, I’ll let Will Critchlow do that for you since he kicked it all off.
Chris (cemper) is one of the most respected link builders out there and it is due time that I started getting his videos up here for everyone to see. This video brings out something very interesting you don’t hear about in the open too often. I know I’ve run into this problem many times and it is just one of the pitfalls of link building.
Chris has a German real estate client who has been online for 10 years and has naturally developed around 100,000 links(give or take site wides :). The problem started when they built some links to a few new content pages, and then got filtered via Google’s anchor text sniffer. Take a listen and learn a thing or two that might save you some time and trouble down the road.
