This is a great idea. For the last year plus, I have been working on one site only. This niche is so large it has so many smaller niches that are still highly paid and searched a lot. It hink it's about time I look into creating more sites and dominating my whole niche.

I would like to know more about this idea about seperate servers and IP's. I've heard this mentioned before, is it really that important. A ballpark figure I have is to eventually create about 25 sites in my niche, each one targeting a certain section of that niche. Will all 25 have to be on different server's/IP's?

You know I never thought of approaching link building like that. But it makes sense and seems like it would be a pretty effective strategy as far as dominating a market and (as you said) the serps for a set of keywords.

It's definitely something I will keep in mind a I create my own link building strategy.

I also completely forgot to mention. If those resources are done right, they'll also stand a good chance at ranking well and you're going to do some serious serp domination.

Well like you said, this is not just about link building, but social media as well, its about becoming an authority in your niche and providing an area for others to participate.

Reason I Sphunn is not too many webmasters would undertake this kind of investment and I feel that as more industries get involved in SEO, this kind of thing will be utilized more and more.

I feel each industry needs some form of social space, and the first person to create that space will potentially reap the benefits.

Hey Jaamit, interesting questions indeed. I for one wouldn't recommend this overly to my clients except this one in particular just wanted to keep going. So let me address your questions and then let me know what you think;

1) He only plans on having 2-3 links back to his main site per resource and wants to allow anyone else in his industry be able to use them for marketing. His niche is only around 3 keywords, but the rest of the industry is much much more and he doesn't plan on going into them.

In one of the cases we setup a tube site but there are a set of rules that make it a little different. In this case, the entire site was setup for company made commercials only, as well as the ability to have customers provide video reviews. So now these companies are feeding in customer review playlists into their review/client pages. So far so good.

2) Good point. I for one am an advocate of less is more and a few strong, niche related links will go a long way. In this case, we weren't only focused about those few links we'd be getting. The client was also looking forward to the investment these sites would bring in the long run...so I assume he'd sell them for the right price, or enjoy private banner ad sales to other aspects of the industry.

He's already making good money from it and before starting out in a new niche/business venture he wanted to tap this one out as much as possible.
